Actually I was expecting Giles

Yes, it's the Buffy the Vampire Slayer personality test ...

Glorificus
72% amorality, 54% passion, 81% spirituality, 45% selflessness
You probably have a complicated, multi-faceted personality. Kind of like Glory-Ben-Glorificus.

Passionate and driven with a spiritual side that comes out at times, a healthy taste for the finer things in life and a willingness to do what's necessary to achieve your ends. You're assertive and have no problems standing up for yourself. And, push come to shove, you're the closest anyone's ever come to straight-up beating the Slayer and her gang.

Congratulations!

Hmmmm. Haven't watched enough Buffy to knowledgeably take that test (a fact I'm trying to rectify with DVDs of back episodes. I like Joss Whedon. Did you see Serenity? A great romp of the Starship Troopers type), but I'm 'somewhat patriotic' in the American/politics one. Not entirely surprising since I'm an expat in the antipodes, with dual citizenship and a somewhat different worldview than many of my contemporaries. I wish all Americans coming of age had to do some sort of voluntary service abroad (that didn't involve proselytising or invading other countries with our armed forces).
Now let's see where I stand on the professional wrestling test ...

  2. Rupert Giles
    54% amorality, 45% passion, 81% spirituality, 63% selflessness

Utterly calm and resolute in the face of danger, utterly devoted to his loved ones and comrades in arms, and utterly willing to do what is necessary to ensure that good overcomes evil. Giles knows the score, he knows that sometimes virtue relies on good men getting a little messy, and he's willing to take that on himself, largely so that others don't have to.

You might share some of that.

You most closely resemble one of the most popular heroes in the Buffy universe.

    Congratulations!

  3. The Devoted Lover
    68% partner focus, 42% aggressiveness, 50% adventurousness

Based on the results of this test, it is highly likely that:

You prefer your romance and love to be traditional rather than daring or out-of-the-ordinary, you would rather be pursued than do the pursuing and, when it comes to physical love, your satisfaction comes more from providing a wonderful time to your partner than simply seeking your own.

This places you in the Lover Style of: The Devoted Lover.

The Devoted Lover is a wonderful Lover Style, and is perhaps the best Lover Style when it comes to developing a long-term, caring and rewarding relationship. The Devoted Lover is a treasure to find, though it is sometimes difficult to time establishing a relationship with one just right; usually, this is the last romantic relationship you'll need to find, so sow any wild oats first.

In terms of physical love, the Devoted Lover can be shy at first but gradually warms and eventually can be a thrilling partner who knows every need of his/her partner. Given a strong and loving relationship, and the right lover, the Devoted Lover can be a delight in bed.

Best Compatibility can probably be found with: The Suave Lover (most of all) or the Classic Lover, or the Carnal Lover.

    Congratulations!

  4. So is Gary Suave, Classic or Carnal?

    No, PLEASE don't answer that.

Mike - yes indeed, Serenity rocks. Firefly was my favourite of all his series - I enjoyed Buffy lots but got a little bored of being life lessons in lurve by whiny teenagers. Angel lost me when they had the Wesley/Angel split - contrived or what?

Thanks for the tips about the books. I've heard Firefly is great (the features editor at my newspaper recommended it) so I'll be tracking that down. Sorry, I'm an Angel ignoramus. If you rely on NZ TV for entertainment, your pickings are usually pretty thin. But they do make sure we get all the American TV evangelists and helpful infomercials, so it's not a complete write-off ...

Maybe there was a typo somewhere, but you are allegedly 72% amoral (which makes me doubt the test to start with). What is even more disturbing though is that your morality was higher than 78% of other respondants.
What is this world coming to?

  7. I'm wondering which ends the amorality starts. If it's my feet, then approx. my top quarter, including my head, is moral. If you measure from the top down then only my lower legs and feet are the moral bits. This is worrying.

So have you taken the test yet??
