At least they were sorry. You can't just go around closing doors willy-nilly, Ben! You can't do anything willy-nilly these days! What if somebody complained!
Hasn't it been like that for ages? As a tesco representative I feel it should be pointed out that these are no ordinary doors. They are part of a set of automatic doors along the outside wall along the checkouts. They were once used so people didn't have to go all the way to the other end of the store to exit.
I only guess that the man power to have security on was deemed not worth it. However you cannot simply stop main exit automatic doors from opening. People do moan or walk into them. Hence you put warning signs on them. It would seem pointless to take them down at any particular time, since the doors are still not in use, so they stay up.
On another note if you were in tescos this afternoon why did you not pass my checkout?
This is the Abingdon Tesco but the pic was taken Friday. Only got round to blogging it yesterday.
I can see why the doors aren't in use (though it was very convenient back when they were) and I appreciate having official notification ... it's just that little line at the bottom that tweaks my sense of irony.

ReplyDeleteYou weren't in the abingdon tesco! I can only assume there is just as good a reason, if not the same.

A career in Tesco management or PR awaits you.
